AMENDMENT 16 TO ANNEX 17 – SECURITY
1. On 16 July 2018, Amendment 16 to the International Standards and Recommended
Practices, Security — Safeguarding International Civil Aviation Against Acts of Unlawful Interference
(Annex 17 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation) became effective.
2. This amendment includes a reference to Aviation Security Training Packages. It also
includes new/revised provisions on information sharing, measures relating to passengers and cabin
baggage, measures relating to cargo, mail and other goods, and cyber threats.
3. Amendment 16 will become applicable on 16 November 2018.
