Teema: Fourth Annual Conference of the EU Forum of the Judicial and Legal Professions - Quatrième conférence annuelle du Forum européen des professions judiciaires et juridiques
Dear President,
In spring 2022, the Academy of European Law (ERA) launched the “EU Forum of the Judicial and Legal Professions” – an initiative that aims to enhance structured dialogue among the legal professions in Europe.
The Annual Conferences of the Forum (held since 2022) have focused on the following topics:
* First Annual Conference (2022) – “Maintaining the attractiveness of the legal professions: how can we anticipate future trends”
* Second Annual Conference (2023) – “The Media and the Legal Professions: Trust in the Judiciary Requires Trust in the Media – Enhancing Cooperation between the Two Pillars of Democratic States”
* Third Annual Conference (2024) – “Improving justice through innovation: From challenges and needs to best practices”
The fourth Annual Conference entitled “The Need for Constant Vigilance: The Role of the Legal Professions in Maintaining Democratic Values” will be held on Friday, 14 November 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.
The organisation of the upcoming Conference is currently in progress and the Network has been invited to nominate a speaker for the event. According to the preliminary programme (please kindly find attached) the organisers propose the representative of the Network
1. To deliver a short presentation on “How the legal professions can help maintain the resilience of our institutions”
or
2. To participate in roundtable discussions on “Independence of the legal professions”
Please note that the date of the Annual Conference of the Forum coincides with the dates of The Hague Colloquium organised by the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and the Network on 13–15 November 2025.
We would, however, be very grateful if you could inform the Secretariat of the Network by Monday, 16 June 2025, should a member of your Court be interested in participating as a speaker at the upcoming Annual Conference of the Forum. Travel and accommodation expenses of the speaker are be covered by the organisers.

En printemps 2022, l’Académie de droit européen (ERA) a lancé le « Forum européen des professions judiciaires et juridiques », une initiative visant à favoriser un dialogue structuré au sein des professions judiciaires et juridiques en Europe.
Les conférences annuelles du Forum (organisées depuis 2022) ont porté sur les thèmes suivants :
* La première conférence annuelle (2022) – « Le maintien de l’attractivité des professions juridiques : comment anticiper les tendances à venir »
* La deuxième conférence annuelle (2023) – « Les médias et les professions juridiques : La confiance dans le pouvoir judiciaire exige la confiance dans les médias. Renforcer la coopération entre deux piliers des États démocratiques. »
* La troisième conférence annuelle (2024) – « Améliorer la justice par l'innovation : Des défis et besoins aux meilleures pratiques »
La quatrième conférence annuelle intitulée « La nécessité d'une vigilance constante : le rôle des professions juridiques dans le maintien des valeurs démocratiques » se tiendra le vendredi 14 novembre 2025 à Bruxelles, en Belgique.
L’organisation de la prochaine conférence est en cours et le Réseau a été invité à nommer un intervenant. Selon le programme préliminaire (nous vous prions de bien vouloir trouver ci-joint), les organisateurs proposent au représentant du Réseau
1) de faire une brève présentation sur « Comment les professions juridiques peuvent contribuer à maintenir la résilience de nos institutions »
ou
2) de participer à la table ronde sur « L'indépendance des professions juridiques »
Nous vous informons que la date de la conférence annuelle du Forum coïncide avec celle du colloque de La Haye organisé par la Cour suprême des Pays-Bas et le Réseau, qui se tiendra du 13 au 15 novembre 2025.
Nous vous serions toutefois très reconnaissants de bien vouloir informer le secrétariat du Réseau avant le lundi 16 juin 2025 si un membre de votre Cour souhaite participer en tant qu’intervenant à la prochaine conférence annuelle du Forum. Les frais de déplacement et d’hébergement du conférencier seront pris en charge par les organisateurs.
