SUMMARY:
The seminar focused on introducing the Action+ project and promoting the principles of good governance in sports organizations. Kaarel Nestor presented the Action+ project, explaining its goals, participation opportunities, and potential follow-up activities, while Jüri Järv gave a lecture on good governance practices.
Participants then engaged in group discussions on how well the principles of good governance are applied within their organizations, identifying which elements are missing, what challenges exist, and how these could be overcome.
The practical part of the seminar featured a conversation between Kaarel Nestor, Jüri Järv (facilitator), Pirje Orasson (Estonian Handball Federation), and Maris Jesse (Estonian Gymnastics Federation), who shared their experiences implementing Action+ and good governance principles. They discussed which elements were initially lacking, what has since been improved, and the benefits the project has already brought or is expected to bring in the future.
