Re: WADA Foundation Board Membership
Dear Minister Purga,
We were informed by the Council of the European Union of your appointment to our Foundation
Board (Board), in replacement of the former EU representative, Minister Sandra Bergqvist of
Finland. We wish to welcome you to WADA and look forward to working with you for the protection
of clean sport.
In accordance with WADA’s Statutes, membership terms on the Board are three years in duration
and commence on the date we are notified of members’ appointments. Accordingly, your
membership on our Board commenced on 29 September 2025 and will conclude on 28 September
2028.
Kindly note that WADA staff will be in contact with you in the coming days to provide background
information on the Agency in support of your role as a WADA Board member, as well as some
preparatory forms and documentation for the remainder of 2025.
For your immediate information, we wish to advise you that our annual Board meeting will take
place in Busan, Republic of Korea, on 5 December 2025, in conjunction with our World
Conference on Doping in Sport. We do expect our Board members to also attend the World
Conference, which will officially open late afternoon on 2 December, and the program will take
place from 3–5 December 2025. We accordingly invite you to mark these dates in your calendar
and we will be in touch soon with regards to logistical arrangements for these meetings.
