Ministry of Culture of Estonia acknowledges the role of film diplomacy in contemporary culture. We are supporting a number of film days abroad, an A-list film festival nationally, as well as operations of art-house cinemas in the country. The films empower dialogue, public diplomacy and mutual understanding in a number of ways. Yet, as a ministry, our goals and plans are set for a longer period of time and unfortunately we can not have a meaningful contribution with a short notice. In general, an interested national partner is a necessary premise for the ministry to be involved. I hope the conference will proceed as expected and we are interested in the outcomes of the conference.
