Karmen Joller Minister Ministry of Social Affairs Republic ofEstonia Dear Hon Minister, On behalf of the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, 1 have the honour to draw your attention to the “Workshop on Al in Smart Healthcare: Telemedicine Infrastructure and Al Benefit Analysis (1),” organized by Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF), which is now open for applications. Taiwan has built a robust foundation in telemedicine and smart healthcare, Ieveraging its sophisticated ICT and technology ecosystem. In particular, advancernents in wearable devices and Al applications have enabled Taiwan to successfully extend healthcare services to rural areas and home-based care settings. The ICDF aims to share these strategies and experiences with like-minded countries to address shared ehallenges and critical issues, such as system reliability, data accuracy and information security. The objectives of this workshop are to: (1) gain an understand of Taiwan’s strategies and experiences in promoting Smart Healthcare, and to explore the actual benefits of integrating AT technology into clinical applications; (2) exchange practical experiences in implementing telernedicine and to explore alternative solutions for telernedicine in areas with insufficient network infrastructure. Ove rvi ew In response to the growing prevalence of chronic diseases, population aging, and shortages of medical resources and workforce, many countries are promoting telemedicine and smart healthcare solutions and integrating artificial intelligence (Al) to improve healthcare accessibility and system resilience. Leveraging its strong ICT and technology ecosystem, Taiwan has accumulated solid experience in telemedicine and smart healthcare development. Through supportive regulatory frameworks and the integration of digital connectivity, wearable devices, and Al applications, healthcare services have been extended to rural and home-based care settings. This training program wiII share Taiwan’s strategies and practical experiences in telemedicine and smart healthcare, while also addressing key challenges such as system reliability, data accuracy, and information security. O Ctinical Applications of Smart Healthcare: Sharing the clinical deployment of smart healthcare and Al technology in Precision Medicine and Preventive Medicine. lncluding the development of disease diagnosis auxiliary systems using Alin big data analysis, and the creation of clinical care support systems integrated with in-hospital medical information systems. O Al Technology Benefit Analysis: Exploring the substantive benefits of clinically implementing Al technology in precision medicine, preventive medicine, and clinical care.
