Assembly Circular Letter No 28 dated 27 July 2020 - Formation of the IHO Council for the period 2020 – 2023 and call for nominations for the positions of the Chair and the Vice-Chair of the IHO Council B. Assembly Circular Letter No 29 Rev1 dated 21 August 2020 – Alternative Conduct of the 2nd Session of the IHO Assembly and 4th Meeting of the Council as Remote Events. 1. The IHO Secretariat thanks the two Members of the Council that responded to Reference A by submitting nominations for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the IHO Council: Canada and Singapore. 2. The nominations received by the closing date for nominations were: a. For the position of the Chair: Dr. Geneviève BÉCHARD, Hydrographer General of Canada and Director General for the Canadian Hydrographic Service b. For the position of the Vice-Chair: Mr Thai Low YING-HUANG, Chief Hydrographer at Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore 3. Dr. Geneviève BÉCHARD is the only nominee for the position of Chair of the Council. Unless there is a justified objection from Members of the Council, she will be considered as elected unopposed as the Chair of the Council for the period 2020 – 2023. 4. Mr Thai Low YING-HUANG is the only nominee for the position of Vice-Chair of the Council. Unless there is a justified objection from Members of the Council, he will be considered as elected unopposed as the Vice-Chair of the Council for the period 2020 – 2023. 5. As indicated in paragraph 20 of Reference B, the elected Chair and Vice-Chair will formally take up their duties at the start of the 4th meeting of the Council on 19 November 2020.
