Specifically, the request concerns covering the cost of translating the book, which would amount to approximately 3,000 EUR. The book is originally written in Estonian and would be translated into Polish by dr Anna Juga-Szymańska, a renowned Estonian language translator. Raimo Pullat, born in 1935 in Tallinn, is a prominent Estonian historian and professor. He studied and earned his academic degrees at the University of Tartu, later serving as Director of the Institute of History at the Estonian Academy of Sciences and Head of the Department of Urban Culture at Tallinn University. His research focuses on historical demography and political history, with particular emphasis on Estonian-Polish, Polish-Finnish, and Estonian-Finnish relations. He is the author of around 30 monographs and over 200 scholarly articles published in several languages. In Poland, he is known for his works on Polish-Finnish and Estonian-Polish relations in the interwar period. Professor Pullat is a member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. In 2001, he received the Baltic Assembly Prize for Science and was named an Honorary Citizen of Tallinn. Professor Pullat has a special connection to the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, as he was awarded an honorary doctorate there. The book focuses on Professor Pullat’s academic experiences and connections with the international scientific community, offering valuable insight into Estonia’s intellectual presence abroad. Given the significance of his work in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and promoting Estonia’s scholarly heritage, we believe this publication would be of cultural and historical value, both in Estonia and internationally. We would be grateful for any information regarding relevant funding programs or application procedures that could support this initiative.
