Decision (EU) 2022/179 has not yet been implemented by us, but we have implemented 2021 version of
ECC/DEC/(04)08 that this decision is mostly based on.
You can find our implementation information in regulation for devices exempt from frequency authorization annex
6 for wideband data transmission devices table 6.4 (in Estonian). Compared to the decision our regulation is missing

an exemption that is allowing WAS/RLAN use in large aircraft (excluding multi-engined helicopters and except in the
frequency band 5 600 – 5 650 MHz) until 31 December 2028 .
However, we have already decided to add this exemption and thus permit usage in large aircraft.
In short, equipment corresponding to Decision (EU) 2022/179 can be used in Estonia.

Could you please help reply to a few questions below:
Decision (EU) 2022/179
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/179 of 8 February 2022 on the harmonised use of radio spectrum in
the 5 GHz frequency band for the implementation of wireless access systems including radio local area networks and
repealing Decision 2005/513/EC, allowing limited outdoor usage in the band 5150-5250 MHz, extending scope of
indoor use to trains and road vehicles etc.
1) Can you please confirm if Decision (EU) 2022/179 has been implemented in Estonia and if there are any
restriction?
If not, do you have an expected date when this decision will be implemented with all the technical
conditions listed in Annex of Decision (EU) 2022/179?
