ICN and WHO Co-Hosted Discussion on Strengthening Nursing Engagement in
Global Health
You are kindly invited to an informal high-level discussion co-hosted by the
International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the World Health Organization
(WHO) during the 79th World Health Assembly.
Date: Monday, 18 May 2026
Time: 18:00–20:00 CEST
Venue: ICN Headquarters, 3 Place Jean-Marteau, 1201 Geneva
Format: Hybrid. Due to capacity restraints pre registration is required.
Please use the link below to register your interest in attending either in
person or virtually.
Note: only those already attending WHA are requested to register for in
person attendance.
This event will bring together senior nursing leaders from a wide variety of
sectors and regions explore ways tostrengthen implementation of the Global
Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery, and the engagement of the
nursing leadership in global health policymaking.
In-person participation will be limited (approximately 50 participants) and
will include senior nurses attending WHA, such as government Chief Nursing
Officers, association leaders, and representatives from regulation,
education, and partner organisations that support nursing. Virtual
participation will be available for those not attending WHA in Geneva.
Preregistration is required but does not guarantee participation.
Confirmation of participation will be sent separately.
