Subject: Study on Food Affordability in the EU including the contribution of
the Common Agricultural Policy

The European Commission has entrusted Wageningen University & Research (‘the
company’) to conduct the study in subject, which is being carried out under a contract
between the company and the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural
Development.
Given the importance the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development
attaches to this study, I would be grateful if all private and institutional contacts could
offer their collaboration and provide the company with the information requested by the
contractor. The terms of the contract require the company to treat with confidentiality
any information and documents (except if publicly available), in any form, disclosed in
writing or orally in relation to the implementation of the contract.

Dear Sir/Madam,
The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) of
the European Commission has launched a new study on Food affordability in
the European Union, including the contribution of the Common Agricultural
Policy (CAP). The study is being carried out by Wageningen University and
Ecorys.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in this study by completing an
online survey. Your input will help the European Commission gain a deeper
understanding of:

The current state of food affordability across EU-27
*
The CAP’s contribution to food prices and food affordability
*
The different policies and measures in place supporting food affordability
*
The key drivers influencing food affordability.
