ANNEX B
Administrative information of the Exercise
“Shield of River Emajõgi”
The exercise is organised by the Estonian Military Academy’s (EMA) 2 nd year Master’s
students to all other students in the academy. It is based on the scenario of the EDF’s military
exercise Tempest Iron and focuses on the defence of Tartu.
The exercise format combines MAPEX and CAX. It includes tactical level of planning up to
brigade level. Students’ responsibilities vary between PTA and STA, also HICON and
LOCON/RC-s including OPFOR. All participants are mentees of officers and NCO-s of the
EMA and the EDF.
The aim of the involvement of the whole cadets’ corps (all branches of service) and academic
staff is teambuilding.
Prerequisites for international participants
Mastering English on Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Level B1 or NATO STANAG Level 2.
Basic understanding of battalion level planning and tactical activities.

Accommodation, meals
The delegation will be accommodated in the dormitory of the EMA.
Hot meals are provided by the host 3 times a day, expect on Sunday, 22 March. On Friday, 27
March breakfast and lunch will be provided.
If a delegation member has a special dietary or food requirements due to medical reasons,
please inform the POC. By doing that, please specify food that cannot be consumed.
Dress code and equipment
Battle dress uniform.
Location of the EMA
Riia Street Riia 12, Tartu 51010. Main building and dormitory are located in the same building.
