OFFICIAL Madis Kallas Minister of Environment Ministry of Environment Estonia Paris, 27 June 2025 15th IAF International Meeting for Ministers and Members of Parliaments “Space the Indispensable Ally for Decision-Makers” Object: Letter of Invitation to attend the IAF International Meeting for Ministers and Members of Parliaments in Sydney (Sunday, 28 September 2025) Dear Hon. Kallas, It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the International Astronautical Federation’s International Meeting for Ministers and Members of Parliaments (MMoP) scheduled to take place on Sunday, 28 September 2025, in Sydney, Australia, preceding the 76th International Astronautical Congress (IAC). The IAF MMoP Meeting this year will be organized in cooperation with the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA), Australian Space Agency, and NSW Government, and it will be hosted in the prestigious Plenary Hall of the Parliament of New South Wales. The IAF MMoP Meeting is a unique forum, inviting Ministers and members of Parliaments from around the world to present their nations’ space initiatives. Ministers will provide valuable insights on their countries’ space strategy, while Parliamentarians will engage in discussions on relevant space solutions in their regions or cities. Here we seize synergies, share experiences, and good practices on space solutions. Our meeting is an exceptional source of ideas for operational space solutions and the accomplishment of national priorities and cities management. Our goal is to make Space accessible, understandable for all of us. This meeting also aims to engage policymakers from nations that do not yet have space experience, to provide them with the opportunity to listen to the experiences shared by their peers, highlighting the benefits of space-based solutions. Each topic will be introduced by a space expert; we encourage attendees to give a short presentation (10 minutes) of a relevant space solution in their country or region on the following topics: • Space for Disaster and Risk Management • Space to Improve Public Services • Space-based Solutions to Safeguard Life on Earth IAF Secretariat – 100 Avenue de Suffren - 75015 Paris, France T: +33 (0)1 45 67 42 60 - E: [email protected] - W: www.iafastro.org Non-profit organisation established under the French Law of 1 July 1901 OFFICIAL Your interaction during the meeting will be recorded and photographed and the assets will be shared with you after the event. We hope that this will support you to further spread the importance of space within your country. In addition to this, we wish to further enrich your experience by inviting you to a formal dinner on Sunday evening coupled with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Sydney Opera House, to network in a more relaxed environment, and to attend the IAC 2025 Opening Day as guest of Honour, on Monday, 29 September 2025. Should you choose to extend your stay in Sydney, a curated list of recommended activities will be provided in due course to help you make the most of your time in the harbour city. We kindly ask that you confirm your attendance at your earliest convenience. For any questions or request further information, please contact the IAF Secretariat ([email protected]).
