To Members of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict 31 August 2023 Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict The Chairperson Ref.: CLT/CEM/CHP/23/39 Subject: 3rd Extraordinary meeting of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict Madam / Sir, I have the honour to inform you that an extraordinary meeting of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict (hereinafter “the Committee”) is scheduled to take place on 7 September 2023 at UNESCO Headquarters in Room XI (Paris, Fontenoy building) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This extraordinary meeting of the Committee, requested by Ukraine, and agreed to by a two-thirds majority of States members, will be dedicated to the protection of cultural property in Ukraine. Your Government is invited to take part in this meeting and the provisional agenda is enclosed for your information.
