Dear Ms Purga,
Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo 2024
Greetings from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC). We
would like to inform you that Hong Kong will organise the inaugural edition
of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo in October 2024. Advanced
information is given in the following prior to our publicity launch in
September and you are cordially invited to give a presentation to introduce
your local art scene, artists and venues at the Expo.
To boost the development of arts and strengthen the global network of arts
institutions and practitioners in the region and beyond, HKADC will organise
the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX, pronounced as “Hong-Kong-
pax”) on 14 – 18 October 2024 in Hong Kong. HKPAX will present an array
of public programmes and industry events including the Expo Programmes,
International Showcases, Pitching Works, Talks and Exhibition. Open call for
International Showcases and Pitching Works will be invited from around the
world later this year.
HKPAX offers plentiful opportunities for arts professionals to gain
international exposure and connect with potential partners. Benefits of
participation include:
a) Exploring cross-cultural exchange;
b) Reaching out to new partners and markets;
c) Joining a platform that encourages collaboration;
d) Witnessing Hong Kong’s new-build cultural and recreational
landmarks, including the growing arts hub of West Kowloon Cultural
District, the incubator centre of East Kowloon Cultural Centre for arts
and technology and a vibrant sports and entertainment destination
for sports events, Kai Tak Development; and
e) Gaining a deeper understanding of the latest arts scene in China, in
particular the latest development of the Greater Bay Area.
We appreciate your leadership in helping and facilitating your artists and arts
groups to take advantage of HKPAX. Some of the following ideas may be
of reference in your contemplation of a plan of participation:
a) Organising a delegation of your arts practitioners to participate in
HKPAX;
b) Organising networking reception/party to introduce your arts
practitioners to overseas counterparts. HKPAX team will provide
support to facilitate the logistics arrangement; and
c) Providing financial support to your arts practitioners to join HKPAX.
We look forward to working in partnership with your organisation to foster
