Subject: Invitation BBRC-24, Bonn/Germany, 24/25 October 2017
Dear all,
having received sufficient indication of interest to have a BBRC meeting
this year, I am happy to send you
a formal invitation; please find attached. Also attached is a very first
draft provisional agenda. If there is
anything you would like to change or add to the agenda, please feel free
to send your comments.
Besides the invitation and the draft provisional agenda, you will find
attached a document template, a
registration form and some useful information about Bonn and the local
hotel and public transport
situation. Please be so kind and return your registration until 29
September 2017. In case of any
questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
As our agenda may again be heavily packed with radiocommunication items,
I also would like to
encourage comments and information from the SAR community. What comes to
my mind, for example,
is:
- What is the current experience of the SAR colleagues with the
increasing number of autonomous radio
devices?
- Or is there anything that may be of interest when considering the HF
background noise situation (which
we found has worsened) - is HF communication/propagation/reliability now
different compared to what
it was one (or two) decades ago?
- Is there anything else that SAR people want to discuss in the context
of the review of the GMDSS or in
the preparation of WRC-19, and that radio people may have failed to see?
- So far, have we missed in our ongoing discussions at IMO and ITU any
particular aspects that may arise
from the Baltic/Barents point of view?
The agenda is open!
Looking forward to seeing many of you in Bonn!
Best regards,
Alexander
