Subject: National position on cochlear implants
Dear all,
I follow up the discussions at the last ADCO RED, TCAM and EG RE.
As agreed in the EG RE, we are herein asking Administrations to take a position on cochlear implants, indicating
precisely whether this kind of equipment should be considered in scope of the RED (2014/53/EU) or not.
We herein re-circulate the National positions which were communicated to the ADCO RED and presented to the
TCAM.
From this file, we built the attached word document (for Portugal we included already the comments provided in
the EG RE).
If the position of your Administration has not changed, there is no need to confirm it.
If the position of your Administration has changed or was not provided, please inform us by 15th January COB, so
that we can update the attached word document.
