Subject: Invitation to support the implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions
for the biennium 2024-2025
Dear Sir, Dear Madam,
I am writing to inform you that the Secretariat has made available at the Conventions’ website (see at:
BRS Conventions > Implementation > Resource Mobilization > Contributions > 2024 - 2025) an overview
of concept notes for voluntary contributions in the 2024-2025 biennium to the Technical Cooperation
Trust Fund of the Basel Convention (BD) and the Special Voluntary Trust Funds of the Rotterdam and
Stockholm conventions (RV, SV). Please find in the annex of this letter a tabular overview of all notes,
along with a link for easy access.
The concepts have been developed to support the implementation of the Programmes of Work (PoW) of
the three conventions, as approved by their respective conferences of the Parties in 2023. They contain a
brief outline of the activities to be undertaken under the respective PoW as well as their indicative
budgets. These activities feed into the various intersessional processes in preparation of the COPs in
2025 and the various subsidiary body meetings.
The Secretariat greatly appreciates the contributions from donor countries and other partners which
enables the Secretariat to continue its support to developing country Parties and Parties with economies
in transition in their efforts to implement the provisions of the conventions.
In accordance with the above, I am kindly asking for your valuable contributions to support the
implementation of these activities. Please be reminded that even the smallest contribution will help us to
support these critical intersessional processes.
