Teema: Regisgantion of judges of the Constitutional Court of Moldova
Dear colleagues,
Please be informed that on 20 June 2019 and, correspondingly, on 26 June 2019, the President and judges of the Constitutional Court of Moldova have presented their resignation from office.
According to Article 136 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and the Law on the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, the competent authorities shall appoint new members of the Court, correspondingly two judges by the Parliament, two judges by the Government and two judges by the Superior Council of Magistracy. The appointed judges, within the time limits and according to the procedures provided for by the law, shall elect the President of the Court.
All information regarding Court developments will be further communicated.
Pending the appointment of new judges, the office of President of the Court will be exercised by Judge Veaceslav Zaporojan, whose resignation shall have a suspensory effect until the appointment of the new composition of the Court.
