IHB File N° S1/6200/C-1 CIRCULAR LETTER 52/2016 04 October 2016 PROPOSED DATES FOR THE FIRST MEETING OF THE IHO COUNCIL (C-1) Reference: IHO CL 41/2016 dated 23 August - Date of entry into force of the Amendments to the Convention on the IHO and its supporting Documents. Dear Hydrographer, 1. As indicated in the Circular Letter in reference, one of the significant changes introduced by the entry into force of the Protocol of Amendments to the Convention of the IHO relates to the establishment of the IHO Council. 2. The Directing Committee announced in the reference that the first meeting of the IHO Council (C-1) was anticipated to take place in October 2017. 3. Taking into account events already placed in the IHO calendar and the need for the Council to meet in time to enable certain activities, such as the final approval of the annual budget and work programmes to be completed by the end of the year, the Directing Committee proposes that C-1 takes place at the IHO Secretariat in Monaco from Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 October 2017. 4. Member States are kindly invited to report to the IHO Secretariat ([email protected]) at their earliest convenience and not later than 15 December 2016 any objection they may have to this proposal.
