Seoses asjaoluga, et Korea vabariigi esindaja soovib kohtuda IHO 1.
assambleele mineva Eesti delegatsiooniga, palume teatada, kas
Välisministeeriumil on juhiseid või soovitusi nimetatud kohtumiseks.
Selgituseks.
IHO 1. assamblee toimub Monacos 24.-27.04.2017.
Korealaste ja jaapanlaste vahel toimub põhjamaalastele arusaamatu
vaidlus praeguse nimega Jaapani meri nime üle, kus puht tehniliselt on
sellega blokeeritud kogu IHO merede nimede kataloogi S-23 kinnitamine.
Korea soovib nimeks „ East Sea“. Selle taga seisab ka Läänemere alade
nimede kinnitamine, kuna see on üks lahutamatu osa kataloogist.
Juba enne eelmist IHO konverentsi 2012.-l aastal püüti ja (osaliselt
see ka saavutati) mõjutada poliitiliselt kõiki IHO liikmesriike.
