Dear Mr Gerber,
Thank you for your email.
We have the same approach as last year. There is no need to obtain any additional permissions from the
CAA, except permission for entering the R-areas. There are 3 areas which need the permission (please
check the AIP):
EER1 PIIRIALA (additional coordination is needed with the Police and Border Guard Board, email:
[email protected]);
EER3 VILSANDI (additional coordination is needed with the Ministry of the Environment, email:
[email protected]);
EER4 MATSALU (additional coordination is needed with the Ministry of the Environment, email:
[email protected]).
Please contact the above-mentioned organisations and when you have received an answer from them,
please send it to me.
Best regards,
Karl Rattassep

Dear M Rattassep,
As mentionned in my previous mail this year I am again in charge for
organizing overflight- and landing permission from your authority in order to be
able to let the Gordon Bennett Balloons fly in your airspace and eventually
land in Estonia.
May I kindly invite you to consult the "Dossier" attached to this mail containing
all information about the event, but do not hesitate to contact me by mail or
phone for further details.
Our requests are as follows:
a. Entry permission into your airspace and eventually land
b. Night VFR permission (means exemption in case of prohibition
in national rules)
c. VFR flight up to FL140 in all classes of airspace (A-G)
d. Crossing of special use areas like R-and D- areas (i.e. military
areas)
==> As last year I have been told that all these points are at your
responsability I do not need to inform EANS, correct?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon with information how to proceed in
order to obtain these permits I send you my
Kind regards
Nik
